Jammu: Former Delhi Chief Secretary K K Sharma has been appointed as the fourth advisor of Governor Satya Pal Malik, a government order said on Monday.
Sharma, a 1983-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, hails from Jammu and will join the other three advisors of the Governor — B B Vyas, K Vijay Kumar and Khursheed Ganai.
He is likely to be allotted education, agriculture and other departments of the State, sources said.
A native of Jammu, K K Sharma, AGMUT cadre 1983 batch IAS officer served as Chief Secretary in Delhi and Goa besides Secretary in Ministry of HRD and retired in February 2018. Sharma held various posts including the post of Secretary PWD during 2009 and was then promoted as Principal Secretary PWD. He remained in the post till April 2011.
As Principal Secretary PWD Department, Delhi in 2010, Sharma had played an instrumental role behind various projects relating to the Commonwealth Games.
From 2011 to 2014, Sharma served as Advisor to Administrator of Chandigarh in an Additional Secretary-rank position.
After that, Sharma came to Union Ministry of Child and Women Development on Central deputation and joined as Chief Secretary of Goa on January 1, 2015.
In March 2015, he was posted as Chief Secretary Delhi. After Kejriwal took over as Chief Minister Delhi in November 2016, Sharma was posted to Ministry of Human Resources Development as Secretary Higher Education Department.
In February 2018, Sharma retired from the government service.
