The Congress Working Committee on Wednesday assembled here to pay homage to the memory of those killed in Delhi rioting and to discuss the social and political implications of the ongoing violence.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi convened the meeting and chaired it with the leaders. They first observed silence in memory of the departed.

Former Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, being abroad, was not present at the meeting.

All other top leaders, including former PM Manmohan Singh, AK Antony, Ghulam Nabi Azad, P Chidambaram, Ahmed Patel, Anand Sharma and Priyanka Vadra were there.
