Twenty-four people of a marriage party were killed on Wednesday and four were injured as a private bus on way from Kota to Sawaimadhopur fell into Mej river in Bundi district.

The accident took place at 10 am as the bus plunged into the river from a bridge that had no railing.

Thirteen people died on the spot while 11 succumbed to their injuries on way to hospital. The deceased included 10 women and three children.

Senior cops of Bundi district rushed to the spot, Dehi Kheda SHO Vijay Singh told The Tribune.
