A major fire broke out at a footwear manufacturing unit at Lawrence Road on Tuesday morning. As many as 26 fire tenders rushed to the site to douse the flame. No casualty has been reported so far.

The fire department said they received a call about the fire at 9:46 am and 26 fire tenders have been rushed to the site.
