Give befitting response to Pak: Congress

Expressing grave concern about the overall situation, Senior Congress leaders on Wednesday said that a war like situation prevails along International Border and LOC due to intense shelling by Pakistan for the last couple of days, least caring for holy month of Ramzan, while the State and Central Government have utterly failed to deal with the grim situation especially to ensure adequate safety, security, required relief measures for the affective people, as over 50,000 people had to run for safety on their own, in the absence of any such standby provision by the government for their shifting and relocation in advance.
Briefing media persons here, Raman Bhalla JKPCC Vice-President, Ravinder Sharma Chief Spokesperson, Manjit Singh and Vikram Malhotra General Secretaries expressed serious concern over the highly grim situation all along border and LoC and strongly condemned Pakistan for resorting to mischief and misadventure during holy month of Ramzan, when Government of India has announced halting of all operations in view of the sanctity of period, while Pakistan is least bothered and resorting to heavy shelling on civilian areas leading to causalities of around 11 persons besides serious injuries to over 40 persons during past couple of days starting day before the visit of Prime Minister to the State.
A team of senior leaders including Raman Bhalla, Ex-MP Madan Lal Sharma, former Minister R.S Chib and General Secretary Manjit Singh, Ex-Minister Ch. Gharu Ram, Ex-MLA Prof Gharu Ram Bhagat, besides local leaders including Ravinder Singh, Ch Mohan Lal visited border areas and met shelling affected people besides personally condoling the death of civilians at R S Pura and Benglad (Samba) and shared the grief on behalf of entire rank and file of the party.
Lashing out at the State Government for its total failure so far, the Congress leaders demanded that immediate urgent measures on war footing be taken to ensure safety of border residents, provide them all sorts of rescue, relief and safe and comfortable shelters with adequate provisions of food, shelter, beddings, medicines as well as financial assistance to the poor families besides all sorts of other measures to ensure their day today requirements.
