Indian Railways launches six new trains on Jammu route

The Northern Division of Indian Railways has recently introduced six summer special train services to Jammu Tawi. These trains have been introduced to beat the heavy rush in Jammu-bound trains. As per the news reports, these trains will start operating soon.

All the trains will run throughout the days on different days, and will pass through the city’s railway station. With the start of these new summer trains, it is expected that travellers will likely visit Jammu to travel to Kashmir to spend the summer season.

As per an official, the new summer special trains have been introduced keeping in mind the upcoming summer vacations. He also said that some trains have been specially introduced for travellers who would want to travel to Jammu for pilgrimage. Also, one of the reasons for introducing these special trains toward Jammu is that many travellers across Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh want to travel to Jammu and Kashmir for summer vacations. The official also informed that these special trains will remain available till the end of summer season.

The first train service that will be introduced is the Katra Special train service. This train has already started operating, and will run from Delhi Junction to Vaishno Devi. It will run on the tracks every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

There will be two long-distance trains passing through Ludhiana-Vaishno Devi Katra- Anand Vihar, which will operate twice a week and be available till the last week of July. The other train that is available is the Jammu Tawi-Bandra Terminus Summer Special. This will be available twice a week and will start operating soon.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Jammu Tawi Express train will start operating and will pass through Ludhiana station six days a week. The Jammu Tawi-Durg Chhattisgarh Express train will also pass through the station six days a week. Furthermore, the train will start operating by the end of this month. The Suvidha Express train service, from Vaishno Devi Katra to Yesvantpur, has been put into service for the city’s railway passengers.
