Ridiculing the BJP for its fictional accounts of achievements and holding celebrations to mark the completion of its four years in power at a time when the party faced the severest confidence crisis, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla on Monday said that while Jammu region continued to bleed and boil, the BJP chose to hold festivities so as to celebrate its four years rule with vague, nauseating speeches and slogans of its leaders which had further antagonised the general masses of the region.
While addressing public meetings at Jeevan Nagar, Roop Nagar, Digiana Extension and Apna Vihar Kunjwani in Gandhi Nagar Constituency, Bhalla said that with raging fires having engulfed almost the entire political constituency of BJP the celebrations by the BJP brigade had come as a rude shocker for the Jammuites including the supporters and allies of BJP.
Bhalla said the State has highly qualified and talented youth who have given their sweat and blood to be equipped with great academic credentials, but that the present dispensation seemed hell-bent to alienate them after robbing them of their merit and rights. It is the youth that suffers the most due to the government’s inability to preserve and nurture peace and stability, he added.
“Hard-working, meritorious and qualified youth of the State are being pushed against the wall because of open political patronage to nepotism and an unprecedented chaos in recruitment, competitive examinations and at service commissions,” he asserted. Former Minister also expressed concern over the civilian deaths in the intensified cross border firing along international border in Samba, R S Pura, Arnia and other areas of Jammu division, adding that the Central as well as the State Governments have failed to take any effective measures to de-escalate tension along the borders and prevent the loss of innocent lives.
Bhalla demanded immediate relief to the affected people and urged the government to act immediately and move them to safer areas to prevent human loss. He urged the Central as well as the State Government to take effective and urgent measures to de-escalate the situation and bring an end to the miseries of the hapless people of the border areas in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meetings were organised by Dr Vijay Sharma, Ex Corporator and PCC Member, Satish Sharma, Retd DC Vijay Sharma, Advocate B.R Chandan, S.P Bhatti, T.P Singh, Satnam Singh Kaka, Neeraj, Saudhghar Choudhary, Capt Bhagwan Singh, Gyan Chand Sharma, Dr D.C Bhagat, Tanvir Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Sita Ram, P.S Bali, B.S Parvana, Bushan Gupta and Onkar Jamwal were also present.
