AgenciesCHANDIGARH/GURGAON: Haryana’s child rights panel has indicted the child welfare committes. committees (CWC) heads of Nuh and Palwal for not following norms while recommending children to a shelter home run by a NGO orphans in need.
A Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) team has last week conducted surprise raids on the premises of the home where it claims to have found 38 children one particular community. The panel’s chairperson, Jyoti Bainda, said she found serious irregularities in the functioning of the home.
More for The main charges levelled by Bainda are that the home only accepts Muslim children and takes affidavits from guardians of the children that they have no claim over them once they are handed over to the home. The panel also observed that the home is located at an “isolated spot”, has a “bunker” and that the faces of children look unhappy
