WHERE IS OUR SOCIETY GOING? WHAT PATH ARE WE FOLLOWING ?

These questions are being asked as Rakshabandhan is coming which is a festival of love, bond, togetherness and sentiments. This is an occasion to flourish care, affection and sacred feeling of brotherhood. Rakhi was practiced as, brothers used to go to sisters house to celebrate this occasion or sister used to visit his sibling. And even married sisters used to come days before this day to their natal house to celebrate this occasion with their family and then their brothers used to escort them back to their house. Wherein sisters used to start shopping for this occasions days before, and brothers used to buy gifts for their sisters all by themselves and this had so many emotions attached with it .The rakhi, the gifts, every was bonded with an emotion attached to it. Emotion of a sister attached to the rakhi, emotion of the brother behind the gift he brought for his sister. And then celebrating that day with lots of love, care and emotions.

But nowadays, these emotions are fading away and this day is considered just as a holiday. The spriti of celebrating rakhi has weaken . And the rituals followed on this day is just a formality and nothing more. Rather than being happy to be able to celebrate time with their families, they take it as a pain and a responsibilty and merely does it for the sake of doing it.

Our cultural value is fading away and we are becoming puppets of this western culture because we celebrate valentines day, friendships day , etc with great joy. Then why not this.? Are we forgetting our culture or we ourselevs are not intrested in taking actively part in our own traditions ? And want to get rid of this. ?
We Still wish everyone
HAPPY RAKSHABANDHAN :)
