On Tuesday, the filmmaker took to her social media account to make the big announcement. Farah and Sania have been the closest friends for a long time now. The two have given Bollywood buffs some of the wittiest one-liners whenever they have come together and one such instance is their appearance together on Koffee With Karan season 5.

Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder also tweeted and congratulated Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik. “Congratulations, @MirzaSania and @realshoaibmalik on becoming proud parents! Born to two sporting legends from two different countries, #BabyMirzaMalik is symbolic in more ways than one. ❤️,” he wrote. Raveena Tandon too wished the sportstars on her Twitter handle. Raveena tweeted, “Congratulations! @MirzaSania @realshoaibmalik ! Lots of love and ashirwaads to the lil one !”

Sania’s husband and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik also shared the big news with his fans and followers. He tweeted, “Excited to announce: It’s a boy, and my girl is doing great and keeping strong as usual #Alhumdulilah. Thank you for the wishes and Duas, we are humbled. #BabyMirzaMalik.”

While announcing the pregnancy in April, Mirza addressed her yet to be born child as ‘#BabyMirzaMalik’. Talking about how she felt about it, she told The Indian Express, “I am not scared or anxious. Rather, I am anticipating a lot of changes in my life.”
