Various organisations condemn grenade attack

Various social and political organizations on Friday condemned grenade attack on a police vehicle at Jammu Bus Stand causing injuries to three police personnel and one civilian.
Expressing serious concern over the grenade attack, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee has termed it an eye opener for the security authorities exposing the vulnerability of the system, in the wake of forthcoming Amaranth Yatra.
Strongly condemning the incident, JKPCC Chief G.A Mir said that it is a matter of serious concern that the terrorists could strike at will as Bus Stand area which is abode of large number of Vaishno Devi pilgrims and tourists and such an happening has exposed the hollowness of the security apparatus besides presence of such elements in the Jammu city.
“It is more unfortunate that at times when Government of India has announced unilateral ceasefire, in view of holy month of Ramzan, the terrorists and their mentors across the border have been resorting to such incidents apart for heavy shelling on the borders. The State and Central Governments are responsible for the massive turmoil in Kashmir Valley and deteriorated security scenario in the State, during the past over three years besides worst situation on borders with Pakistan,” Mir added.
In a statement issued here, Shri Ram Sena State President Rajiv Mahajan expressed serious concern over the incident and said that grenade blast was aimed to create fear psychosis and panic among Amarnath and Vaishno Devi pilgrims as in wake of summer vacations as Yatra is expected to be on peak this year. He further said that this has exposed the intelligence grid of State and also alleged that there are sympathisers for anti-national elements in the areas surrounding Jammu city. He asked the government to take serious cue of this blast and immediately geared up security grid to avoid any untoward incident during ensuing Amarnath pilgrimage.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu Mahanagar staged a protest against the State Government regarding grenade blast at Jammu Bus Stand and others terrorist attacks in the State.
ABVP State Executive Member, Sonali Vaid said that State Government is responsible for the unrest and law and order problem in the State. She also condemned Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for leading the All Party Delegation to the Central Government for applying ceasefire in J and K.
Komal Mengi, Preeti Khajuria, Ali Haider Shah, Yashaswani, Tamanna, Akshit Baru, Gourav Dubey, Akash, Sunil Chaudhary, Mandeep, Harvinder, Lakshay, Kunal and Jagbir were also present.
Narinder Singh, former Director Information and National Conference senior leader in a statement has strongly criticised and condemned the last night grenade attack.
Singh said that this is not the first time that terrorists has shown their presence in Jammu City and its surroundings but earlier also they’ve attacked Raghunath Temple in 2002 and the police personnel on Jammu Tawi Bridge during late night hours besides attacking Sunjwan Army Camp, Hiranagar Police Station and many other places. He asserted that the Union Government should take stern steps to deal with such forces who are bent upon to destabilise the country and J&K State. Moreover security forces should be extra cautious while dealing with such elements which are responsible for creating unrest in the state.
