IGP Jammu flags off State blind cricketers for Int’l tournament

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu, Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal on Thursday flagged off State blind cricket players in an impressive function held at Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu.
The two blind cricketers namely Rohit Kumar Sharma from R.S Pura and Irfan Ahmad Mir from Kashmir shall represent Indian team in International Tri-Series for Blind Cricketers which is going to commence from October 2 to 13 at Bengaluru and Goa. The teams namely India, Srilanka and England are participating in this series.
Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer apprised the IGP Jammu that some blind cricketers of the State were sent for further professional training at Bengaluru.
IGP Jammu conveyed best wishes to the State cricketers for their bright future and great performance in the international matches.
He also appreciated Rajesh Sharma SSP and Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer for regularly conducting cricket events and coaching camps for these specially-abled cricketers under the banner of Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu.
IGP also assured all help to the J&K blind cricket team in their future cricket events.
Rajesh Sharma SSP, Staff Officer to IGP Jammu, Kulbir Singh SSP PCR Jammu, Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer and coordinator of all cricket events and Coaching Camps for the State blind cricket team, Surjeet Singh and Ajay Thakur Senior cricketers of J&K Blind Cricket team were also present on the occasion who conveyed their best wishes to the blind cricketers for their best performance in the forthcoming matches.
