Students protest against Jammu University exam decision

Students of various government colleges across Rajouri and Poonch staged protest demonstrations on Wednesday against Jammu university administration accusing it of denying them their right to examination.
The students, who have not “fully” qualified their first and third semesters, alleged that the university had decided not to allow them to take 6th semester examination, which they said was “unjust”.

They said either the university should not have admitted them at the first place to the sixth semester. “But since they have admitted us to the sixth semester, they cannot deny us to sit in the sixth semester examination”.The students of the 6th semester of the government degree college Rajouri assembled at the main gate of the degree College and blocked the main road leading to it.They raised slogans against the Jammu university administration and said that “we have every right to sit in the sixth semester examination”.
"The university's move is unjust," the aggrieved students said demanding that the university should roll back its decision.

The road remained block for over an hour after which SHO Rajouri reached on the spot and pacified the students assuring that the issue will be taken up with the authorities concerned.A similar protest was staged by the students of government degree college Mendhar in Poonch district.The students raised slogans against the Jammu university administration.They appealed to the Governor administration to intervene in the matter. The students of government degree college Thanamandi also took out a protest rally which was attended by hundreds of students.
