Skiing and Mountaineering expedition is visible after 20 years of Kargil victory

On the completion of 20 years of Kargil victory, Lt Gen YK Joshi, General Officer Commanding 'Fire and Fury' Corps, today flagged off skiing and mountaineering campaign by ski troopers. Let the team of qualified climbers under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Katie Stobdan start their grand journey from Siachen base camp on April 13, 2019.
By six days of difficult road, the team reached the peak of Mount Mount Mountains at an elevation of 20,860 feet. It is also known as Goddess Lakshmi Parvat. Upon arrival, the team proudly hoisted the national flag. After this the team also patroled to Turkistan La. Not only this, the team decided to record the record recorded in history while deciding the Indira call, Turkan La, 45km distance of the junction peak in the exact time.

Appreciating the unimaginable courage of the skiing team, Lt Gen VK Joshi said that the team increased the respect of the Army by reaching junction peak (20,374 feet) regardless of challenging areas and dangerous weather. He wished success for the team's future efforts.
