Before UP cops, Karnataka police arrested two for abusive video against CM Kumara swamy

Police arrested two men for allegedly abusing Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy and his family in a video on social media.The Bengaluru police have arrested two persons for allegedly abusing Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy and his son Nikhil in a video shared on social media.

The accused, identified as Siddaraju (26), who works at a petrol bunk, and car driver Chamaraju (28) were arrested on June 8.In the video, the two were seen using abusive language against Nikhil Kumaraswamy and his family, police said.Following a complaint by Janata Dal's (Secular) social media cell, the two were arrested on June 8 and remanded in judicial custody for 15 days.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered the immediate release of a journalist arrested for allegedly making objectionable comments against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on social media, saying fundamental right to liberty is "sacrosanct" and "non-negotiable".

A vacation bench, comprising justices Indira Banerjee and Ajay Rastogi, said it is granting bail to the scribe as it disapproves the deprivation of right to liberty by the state."A citizen's right to liberty is sacrosanct and non-negotiable. It is a fundamental right granted under the Constitution and can't be infringed upon by the state," the bench said.

The top court also deprecated the journalist for his posts against Adityanath and said it did not approve of them.Prashant Kanojia had allegedly shared a video on Twitter and Facebook wherein a woman is seen speaking to reporters of various media organisations outside the chief minister's office in Lucknow, claiming that she had sent a marriage proposal to Adityanath.
