The lawyer representing the domestic helps in the case, has accused the Talwars of hatching a conspiracy to save themselves. The servants have claimed that the couple also destroyed evidence in the case to frame them.

The case diary
In May 2008, 14-year-old Aarushi was found dead inside her room in the Talwars' Noida residence with her throat slit. The needle of suspicion had initially moved towards 45-year-old Hemraj, who had gone missing but his body was recovered from the terrace of the house two days later.

As the Uttar Pradesh Police drew flak over the shoddy investigation into the case which was making national headlines, the then chief minister Mayawati handed over the probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

A division bench of the Allahabad High Court comprising justices B K Narayana and A K Mishra had reserved its judgment on September 7 on the appeal filed by the dentist couple, fixing October 12 as the date for the verdict.

D-day for Rajesh, Nupur Talwar
Today (Thursday) is a big day for Talwar couple Rajesh and Nupur. The Allahabad High Court is likely to rule on their appeal today against their conviction in the murder case of their daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj in May 2008.

A CBI court in Ghaziabad had on November 25, 2013 found the couple guilty of the double murders. A day later, they were sentenced to life.

Nupur and Rajesh Talwar are at present serving their sentence in Ghaziabad's Dasna jail.
