Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Friday sought investigation of the 8-year-old minor girl Asifa’s rape and murder case by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Led by Leela Karan Sharma, VHP State President, the activists assembled outside Governor’s House and raised slogans against the government. Bajrang Dal activists also joined the protest.
While talking to reporters here, Sharma said that whenever a scandal was surfaced the government called a CBI enquiry.
“Now why the Chief Minister taking the issue of Asifa’s rape and murder case away from CBI probe,” he asked.
Sharma stated that in order to save the culprits of rape and murder case, the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti refused to refer the case to CBI for which the people of that area are demanding.
The protesters also expressed resentment against the order of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti which gave administrative immunity to land grabbers and bovine smugglers of a particular community.
VHP State President threatened the State Government to withdraw these orders and don’t try to spoil the peace of Jammu region by issuing of such types of orders which are beneficial to a particular community.
Sharma mentioned that during the 2008 agitation Mehbooba Mufti told that the people of Jammu would pay a price for this agitation. “Following the same the people of Jammu are facing hardships on account of various issues including issuance of Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC)”, the alleged. Sharma pointed out that the policy of demanding proof of 1947 from the residents of Jammu for issuance of State Subject is not at all justified as State Subject of parents and grandparents should be considered for PRCs.
Shakti Dutt Sharma Vice President, Sushila Vice President, Rakesh Sharma, Suresh Gupta, Working President; Dev Raj Sharma, Vice President, Ajay Manhas and Seh Mantri Sudershan Khajuria were also present.
