The number of government schools in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir which are without boundary walls is seeing a rapid increase over the past few years.
Sources said in 2016, there were around 13,893 government schools without a boundary wall, which had now increased to more than 17,000. They said of the 17,000 government schools, around 7,500 schools were in various districts of the Jammu province.
