Days after PM Narendra Modi flayed former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah for criticizing abrogation of Article 370, the state police, that have booked the leaders under the Public Safety Act, has accused the PDP chief of making anti-national statements and supporting Jamaat-e-Islamia, which is banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Sources said the police dossier alleged that on the eve of the reorganisation of the state, Omar had tried to provoke the masses against the revocation of Articles 370 and 35-A through his comments on the social media, which had the potential to disturb public order.
