The annual pilgrimage to the holy Amarnath cave shrine of Lord Shiva, nestled in south Kashmir Himalayas, will begin on June 23 this year.

The duration of the yatra, which is the beginning on the auspicious day of Jagan Nath Rath Yatra as per the Hindu calendar, will be of 42 days and will conclude on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan) on August 3.

The yatra schedule and duration was decided at the 37th meeting of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) under the chairmanship of Lieutenant-Governor (L-G) Girish Chandra Murmu here today at Raj Bhavan, Jammu.
