The Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested the son of a former MLA in connection with the murder of a 23-year-old engineering student in Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow on Thursday.

Accused Aman Bahadur, a student of a private university in Lucknow, was arrested on Friday morning, police said. Aman Bahadur's father is an ex-MLA, they added.

Engineering student Prashant Singh was on Thursday stabbed to death in Alaknanda apartment complex. The incident was caught on security cameras of the complex in Gomti Nagar.
