Portal launched to create database of 2800 private schools

To ensure smooth mechanism for monitoring the functioning of private schools as and for quick disposal of their applications in various matters, the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has launched a portal for creating database of private schools of Jammu Province. There are more than 5,000 private schools in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Around 4,38,115 students have been enrolled in 2,816 private schools in Jammu Division.

Sources said the database in the new portal would carry information of all private schools affiliated with the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE)/Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)/Indian Certificate of Secondary Examination (ICSE) regarding infrastructure, employee details, fee details, facilities etc which are mandatory for creating an efficient mechanism for monitoring of private schools.
