The number of novel coronavirus cases in India has climbed to 1,160 after over 30 fresh cases were recorded on Monday morning. The death toll due to Covid-19, meanwhile, has crossed the 30-mark.mThe total number of Covid-19 cases stands at 1,171 at 10 am on Monday, while 98 people have been either cured or discharged and another death in West Bengal, taking the death toll to 31. Maharashtra, the worst hit, has reported the most deaths (six) so far, followed by Gujarat (five), Karnataka (three), and Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir (two each). Kerala, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh have reported a death each. Maharashtra and Kerala remain the states with the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country. The highest number of confirmed cases of the pandemic has been reported from Maharashtra with 215 infections so far, followed by Kerala at 202. Karnataka has reported 83 cases till now, while the number of cases has gone up to 70 in Telangana. Uttar Pradesh and Delhi has reported 72 cases, Gujarat 69, while the number of cases in Rajasthan has climbed to 60. Tamil Nadu has reported 50 positive cases each so far. Punjab has reported 39 cases, while 35 Covid-19 cases have been detected in Haryana. There are 41 cases of coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir, followed by Madhya Pradesh (47), Andhra Pradesh (21), West Bengal (21) and Ladakh (13). Bihar has 15 cases, while 10 cases have been reported from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Chandigarh has eight cases, while Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand have reported seven cases so far. Goa has reported five coronavirus cases, while Himachal Pradesh and Odisha have reported three cases each. Puducherry, Mizoram and Manipur have reported one case each.
