300 containment teams formed as Gautam Buddh Nagar gears up to fight against coronavirus

As the Uttar Pradesh government moved to seal hotspots in 15 districts of the state, Guatam Buddh Nagar has stepped up the action to fight against novel coronavirus. The authorities of Gautam Buddh Nagar in Uttar Pradesh have started mobile sample collection facility from 22 hotspots in Noida and Greater Noida, officials said. The government has also started the process to set-up testing labs for coronavirus at Government Institute of Medical Sciences in Greater Noida and Super Speciality Paediatric Hospital and Post Graduate Teaching Institute in Noida. Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj, the District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar said: For setting up Covid-19 testing labs at GIMS and Child PGI, we have released Rs 46.2 lacs and Rs 65 lacs. It should be ready in a few days. Gautam Budh Nagar has 22 hotspots which include 12 clusters, 10 epicentres and 34 localities. The DM of Gautam Buddh Nagar said that the district hospitals will also soon start collecting samples of suspected patients from the hotspots. According to officials, the team for cluster containment has visited 52,130 families so far and they found 338 persons with travel history. All the suspects are being monitored and are under surveillance. Cluster Containment Strategy has been executed by the government all over the country to curb the spread of the deadly novel coronavirus and avoid the threat of community transmission. Total of 300 containment teams have been formed by the authorities to visit areas around epicentres of Covid-19 positive cases in Gautam Buddh Nagar. Each team includes 3 members each from Health, Revenue and Police department officials.
