27 fresh virus cases in Valley, number rises to 407 in J&K

The number of COVID-19 patients in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday crossed the 400 mark as 27 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the Union territory, officials said.
“Twenty-seven new cases of COVID-19 have been reported today (Wednesday) and all from Kashmir,” government spokesperson Rohit Kansal said.
He said the total number of cases in Jammu and Kashmir has now risen to 407. While 56 of these cases have been detected in Jammu division, 351 are from Kashmir division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin 310 cases out of 407 are Active Positive, 92 recovered and five have died. Moreover, 11 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged, 6 from District Hospital Pulwama, 3 from SKIMS Soura, and 2 from Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar. Till date 64,089 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which include 5806 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 252 in Hospital Quarantine, 310 in hospital isolation and 15,376 under home surveillance. Besides, 42,340 persons have completed their surveillance period.

The authorities have come up with standard operating procedures (SOPs) for pregnant women in the COVID-19 red zone areas across Kashmir, even as restrictions to combat the coronavirus threat continued in the Valley
As per the laid down procedures, the pregnant women in red zones will be enlisted and their check-up will be managed at the recently established health centres in red and buffer zones, officials said.
