Bengal BJP MP sits on road to protest against harassment by Trinamool govt, police

West Bengal BJP MP Sukanta Majumdar has allegedly been stopped from entering his constituency in Dakshin Dinajpur. The MP has said he was stopped every time he tried to visit any place in his constituency. Now the MP has shot a letter to the local police station in Balurghat constituency asking to know the reasons of him being stopped. He was also seen squatting on the road to protest against the harassment meted out by the Trinamool government. The BJP MP has accused the police of not allowing them to serve the people in their area in this crisis. Interestingly, prior to this, BJP MP John Barla was kept under house arrest on charges of flouting the social distancing norms. On Sunday, Bengal BJP leaders protested in the state and even in Delhi against the high handedness of Trinamool Congress government. Mamata Banerjee and Centre have locked horns in a battle over the handling of the coronavirus situation in Bengal and also implementation of the lockdown.
