Bhalla urges administration to provide free ration to local poor families

Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla on Monday urged the Govt to enhance testing facilities to conquer challenges posed by COVID-19 and provide ration to the local poor people in Jammu region.
Bhalla said, testing and tracing are the key to fighting the menace. He also stressed on the issue of humanism, protection and financial security to drive the approach to dealing with migrant labourers. He said it is incumbent upon Govt to collectively apply their minds and suggest a smart plan to how do we transition out of this lockdown due to all the issues arising out of it, especially the economic issue. He urged upon the J&K UT administration to provide free ration to the local poor families who are facing starvation due to country wide lockdown. He pointed out that many poor families, widows, auto-rickshaw operators; mini-bus drivers, conductors, way side vendors, Rehari Wallas, salesmen, domestic helps etc are unable to feed their families due to country wide lockdown in view of Coronavirus pandemic. He urged upon the J&K UT Administration to also provide some financial help to these people/ families to minimize their miseries. Meantime former Minister on Monday continued the distribution of ration and other essential items among needy people in Gandhi Nagar constituency. Today he distributed food items at Kunjwani in Shankar Colony, Deep Nagar, Shiva Colony, Greater Jammu and Digiana.
