COVID-19: Anantnag has reported 12 new cases

As many as 33 fresh cases of coronavirus were reported in Kashmir on Thursday, taking the total number of patients in J&K to 614. Thirty three new cases have been reported today in Kashmir. Twenty four patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, the media bulletin on Covid-19 stated. Fresh cases continued to pour in from the worst-affected districts of the Valley, with Anantnag reporting 12 cases, Baramulla 11, Kulgam four, Pulwama and Srinagar two each and Budgam and Shopian one each. North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, which has been an infection hotspot, has not reported any case in the past four days. A majority of the Covid cases, 556, are from Kashmir, while 58 are from Jammu Division. As per official reports, 70,408 persons have been put under observation. As many as 7,335 people are under home quarantine, 390 in hospital isolation and 193 in hospital quarantine. A total of 8,398 people are under home surveillance and 54,084 people have completed surveillance. According to official data, 19,746 tests were conducted, of which 19,132 tested negative and 614 positive. At least eight people have died and 216 recovered from Covid so far.
