The Centre has called a meeting of the heads of 30 municipal corporations across India which have 80% of the country's Covid-19 caseload. The heads of these municipalities are expected to meet the Union Health Secretary on Saturday at the Health Ministry's headquarters in New Delhi and chalk out an exclusive plan for these particular areas worst-affected in the pandemic. These areas are expected to have stricter curbs as compared to other parts of the country as the government takes a surgical approach to the virus instead of a blanket nationwide lockdown.
