India records highest-ever spike of 6,767 cases in 24 hours

India has recorded a highest-ever spike of 6,767 cases and 147 in the last 24 hours. With the surge in cases, the total number of positive cases of coronavirus in the country has mounted to 1,31,868, while the death toll rose to 3,867, as per the latest data by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday morning. Of the total cases, 54,440 have been successfully treated while one case has been migrated from the country. There are 73,560 active cases of Covid-19 in India. Maharashtra remains the worst affected by the coronavirus outbreak in the country. The total number of positive cases in the state has jumped to 47,190 and 1,577 deaths, according to the Union Health Ministry. Tamil Nadu continues to be the second-worst hit in the country with 15,512 Covid-19 cases and 103 deaths. Followed by Gujarat with 13,664 cases and 829, Delhi 12,910 cases, 231 deaths, Rajasthan 6,742 cases, 160 deaths, Madhya Pradesh 6,371 cases, 281 deaths, and Uttar Pradesh 6,017cases, 155 deaths.
