George Floyd's death after a white police officer knelt on his neck has sparked a nationwide protest in the United States which is receiving support from all the corners of the world. Football clubs, NBA, and Formula One stars had reacted strongly to the death of George Floyd earlier and late on Monday night, England Cricket became the torchbearer from the cricketing fraternity to lead support for the movement 'Black Lives Matter'. ECB shared a picture featuring star England pacer Jofra Archer, spinner Adil Rashid and destructive wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler hugging each other after winning a match.

"We stand for diversity, We stand against racism," ECB captioned the image.

The 2019 World Cup champions England saw Jos Buttler amass vital 312 runs for his side in the quadrennial while Archer was England's highest wicket-taker in the event with 20 wickets. Adil Rashid had turned out to be England's best spinner in the 2019 World Cup as he scalped 11 wickets from 11 matches. The recent protest sparked after a coloured man named George Floyd died after a white policeman knelt over his neck in Minneapolis. Sports fraternity have stood against the barbaric act and called for a change in laws and system. Six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan went on to tell that 'we (African-Americans) have had enough', while F1 legend and reigning champion Lewis Hamilton slammed his 'white dominant' industry for staying mum. "I stand with those who are calling out the ingrained racism and violence toward people of color in our country. We have had enough,” NBA Hall of Famer Jordan said on Sunday. “Not a sign from anybody in my industry which of course is a white dominated sport. I’m one of the only people of colour there yet I stand alone,” Hamilton had said. “I see those of you who are staying silent, some of you the biggest of stars yet you stay silent in the midst of injustice,” wrote the Mercedes driver," Lewis Hamilton added.
