Mumbai on high alert For Cyclone Nisarga

The deep depression over Arabian Sea has intensified into a cyclonic storm today and is moving northwards towards Maharashtra and Gujarat coasts. IMD has said over the next 12 hours, the cyclonic storm Nisarga will further intensify into a severe cyclonic storm. IMD has said Cyclone Nisarga will make landfall in Maharashtra and Gujarat in the afternoon on Wednesday with wind speed upto 110 kmph. 33 NDRF teams have been deployed in Maharashtra and Gujarat. The state governments are gearing up for the impact of the cyclonic storm tomorrow. Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray through video conference and took stock of the Maharashtra's preparedness ahead of the landfall. Steps are also being taken to ensure there is no disruption of power supply in Maharashtra which is battling the worst coronavirus outbreak in the country.
