Geelani�s quit shows sign of failure of separatism: DGP

Stating that the resignation of Sayeed Ali Geelani from Hurriyat Conference was a sign of failure of separatism in Kashmir, the Director General of Police J&K Dilbagh Singh Tuesday said that some points mentioned by Geelani in his letter shows negative approach of the separatists which results in widespread losses of public life and property.
The JKP police chief also said that the copter shot down BSF recently was carrying consignment for a militant operating in South Kashmir.
The DGP added that it carried consignment that was for a non-local militant Ali Bhai, who is active in South Kashmir.
He further said that this year militants were being neutralized at a faster rate and the militancy in Valley was in diminishing mode. He said in the first six months of the current year, 100 plus militants have been killed.
