Saroj Khan dies of cardiac arrest: Amitabh Bachchan to Akshay Kumar, Bollywood pays tribute

Saroj Khan died after suffering a cardiac arrest at a hospital in Mumbai on Friday July 3. She was 71. The news of Saroj Khan's death was confirmed by her daughter. On June 20, the veteran choreographer was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Mumbai. She was also tested for coronavirus, the reports of which turned out to be negative.

Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter and paid their last respects to the late choreographer on social media.

Amitabh Bachchan wrote on Twitter, "Prayers. Haath jude hain, man ashaant."

Akshay Kumar wrote, "Woke up to the sad news that legendary choreographer #SarojKhan ji is no more. She made dance look easy almost like anybody can dance, a huge loss for the industry. May her soul rest in peace."

Hansal Mehta wrote, "An era is over. RIP Saroj Khan."

Manoj Bajpayee wrote, "Rest in peace Saroj ji."

Farah Khan wrote, "Rest in peace Sarojji.. u were an inspiration to many, myself included. Thank you for the songs. #SarojKhan"

Saroj Khan choreographed more than 2,000 songs in her illustrious career. Some famous songs choreographed by her include Chane Ke Khet Mein, Dhak Dhak, Kaate Nahin Kat Te and Dola Re Dola, to name a few. Saroj Khan's last rites will be performed at Malvani in Malad on Friday.
