March Past in masks, a view of full dress rehearsal I-Day 2020

With the 74th Independence Day just around the corner, various parts of the country, including the city of temples - Jammu, witnessed the full dress rehearsal of the event on Thursday.
Although Covid-19 has been a dampener for most events and occasions this year, the spirits of the participating personnel in the full dress rehearsal events across the country soared high and in full enthusiasm for the event that is to take place on August 15.
In Jammu, the rehearsal took place at Mini Stadium, Parade where personnel in mask, observing social distancing while marching in line to the tune of the band were seen.
In an Independence Day advisory issued last month, the government had pressed for the use of technology �in a best possible manner for the celebration befitting the occasion,� also directing to avoid large gatherings and congregation of people in large numbers.
Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma inspected the parade, hoisted the national flag and took the salute at the march past comprising contingents of District Police, CRPF, JKAP, Forest Protection Force and IRP.
The function for Independence Day rehearsal commenced with the hoisting of national flag and followed by Flag March and March Past.
On the occasion, a scintillating, pre-recorded cultural programme, depicting patriotism, culture and message against the social evils and national anthem was also screened by Information Department.
ADC Jammu, Dr Tahir Firdous, Joint Director Information and heads of various departments, district officers along with senior officers were present to witness the full dress rehearsal.
The full dress rehearsal was also held across the districts of Jammu division.
