No lockdowns on weekends from now in JK

Jammu, 1-September-2020

The weekend lockdown which was being imposed at the district level in Jammu and Kashmir UT has been withdrawn. In the new guidelines, no district magistrate can enforce lockdown at their own outside the containment zone.
According to Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chauhan, the weekend lockdown has been removed under the new guidelines.
State Committee will first have to consult the Center, after which the District Magistrate can allow this State Committee to implement the lockdown if need be. On Tuesday, the District Magistrates of Jammu, Kathua and Reasi withdrew the order for the weekend lockdown.
Under the new order, all establishments will be open seven days a week. Under the new system, other instructions, including wearing social masks, have to be followed. Reasi District magistrate has issued an order saying that shops can be opened from 9 am to 7 pm.
Non-compulsory activities will be banned from 10 to 5 in the night.
