Indian professional badminton star PV Sindhu, who is currently ranked as World No.6 by BWF, has quit the national camp for Olympic-bound players and is worked with the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI) in London in order to focus on her recovery and nutrition. Sindhu rose to fame, at the age of 21, after winning a silver medal for India in Rio Olympics 2016. The coronavirus-induced pandemic has certainly taken its toll on the schedules of many sports and sportspersons and Sindhu was massively affected too. The 25-year-old, after the pandemic-induced hiatus, had resumed her training in August but opted out of the recently concluded Denmark Open Super 750 event. The Indian badminton star will, however, participate in the upcoming Thomas and Uber Cup, the latest schedule of which is yet to be revealed. The tournament was originally scheduled to be in August this year but was postponed to dates in October amid the pandemic. The world champion, took to Twitter, on Monday revealed that she had travelled to London to work on her recovery and nutrition. According to a report, Sindhu has been in the UK for at least 10 days now and is currently working with the GSSI. Happy to be in England and working with GSSI over the next few weeks on my nutrition and recovery with @rrandell86! 3 months to Asia tour and this is best chance to work on this and improve!!: Sindhu tweeted on Monday. For the first known time, the Padma Bhushan awardee has travelled overseas without being accompanied by either of her parents and is being closely observed by GSSI experts, including Rebecca Randell as posted by Sindhu herself. The 25-year-old is expected to be in London for the next two months until ahead of the Asian Leg of the much-awaited World tour which was originally scheduled to be held in November 2020.
