Bihar election results: NDA comes back strongly against Tejashwi alliance in trends

Reversing early trends, the NDA has comeback strongly as the counting of votes progresses for the Bihar assembly election results. In early trends, the NDA was trailing far behind the Mahagathbandhan led by RJD leader Tejaswhi Yadav. Now, the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led NDA is neck-and-neck with the Mahagathbandhan in the Bihar election. According to the latest count of votes, the Mahagathbandhan was leading on 98 seats, the NDA on 127 and Others were leading at 17. This included nine of the LJP, which is part of the NDA but fought against the JDU in Bihar. Earlier when trends had started to come in from the counting centres for the Bihar Assembly election, the Mahagathbandhan led by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav emerged to be leading at 70 seats and the NDA was trailing with leads on 37 seats. The counting of votes began this morning at 8 am on 55 counting centres across all 38 districts. Trends for 238 of 243 seats were available at the time of writing this report. The Bihar Assembly election was held in three phases on October 28, November 3 and November 7. The Mahagathbandhan chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav and his brother Tej Pratap were leading from their respective seats - Raghopur in Vaishali district and Hasanpura in Samastipur. Among other prominent candidates, Luv Sinha, the son of Congress leader Shatrughan Sinha, was leading from Bankipur seat in Patna earlier. Now, he is trailing behind the sitting BJP MLA. Plurals party chief Pushpam Priya is one of the candidates from this seat. Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, the HAM leader, was leading from Imamganj. Shreyasi Singh of the BJP was leading at Jamui seat in the parliamentary constituency of LJP chief Chirag Paswan, who had appealed to his voters to vote for her.
