Delhi Polices Crime Branch on Friday asked 38 farmer leaders to appear before it over the next three days in connection with the January 26 violence during the tractor rally in the national capital. A team of forensic experts visited the sites of violence, including Ghazipur, ITO and Red Fort to collect evidence and obtain photographs of damaged police barricades and vehicles.

Those summoned by the Police include Darshan Pal, Rakesh Tikait, Yogendra Yadav, Rajinder Singh, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Buta Singh Burjgil and Joginder Singh Ugrahan, said officials. Till Wednesday, the Police had arrested 19 persons and detained 200 persons in connection with 33 FIRs registered under various sections of Indian Penal Code -Disaster Management Act, Epidemic Diseases Act and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act - as per the statement.

While the charges of vandalism are being probed by the crime branch, the anti terror unit special cell has been entrusted with FIRs registered under Unlawful activities (Prevention) Act and sedition charge as part of its probe into the alleged larger conspiracy and criminal designs behind the January 26 violence in which miscreants forced their way into the Red Fort and hoisted a flag. Role & conduct of organizations & individuals based in India, as well as those out of the country, is being probed, said the Delhi Police.

Police said they have identified several social media accounts and Twitter handles with Khalistani propaganda that is being used to create further unrest. These accounts have been identified and a dump of their content is being notified. Several inciteful tweets were posted by these accounts. We have sought more details from Twitter India, said a senior Police officer.
