Terrorists attack BJP leader Anwar Khan’s residence in Jammu and Kashmir’s Nowgam, one cop killed

A policeman was injured after terrorists attacked the residence of BJP leader Anwar Khan in Jammu and Kashmir's Nowgam on Thursday. The BJP leader is safe, according to the police official. However, one sentry critically injured in the attack succumbs to his injuries. The terrorists fired upon the guard post of Kahn's residence at the Arigam area of Nowgam in the outskirts of the city here this morning. The terrorists decamped with an SLR rifle from the spot, however, the police yet to confirm the development. The slain police officer was brought dead to the hospital, according to the Medical Superintendent of SMHS Hospital, Dr Nazir Chowdhary. Meanwhile, BJP's media in-charge Manzoor Bhat said the party's Kashmir unit strongly condemns the brutal attack. This is not the first time an attack was attempted on the BJP leader. Earlier in 2018, terrorists had opened fire at Anwar Khan in the Pulwama district. A police officer who was guarding him was injured in the attack. However, Khan escaped unhurt.
