Unidentified miscreants vandalised a statue of Jesus Christ at a church in Karnataka’s Mysuru days after Christmas. The incident took place in Mysuru district’s Periyapatna town on Tuesday evening. According to the police, the unidentified miscreants vandalised the statue of Jesus kept at the altar. However, they did not cause any damage to the main statue of Jesus kept in the church. the vandalism happened when the church priest was away from the premises. The money from the donation box was also missing. Police officials have initiated an investigation and are probing the incident from all angles. "We have formed a team to nab the culprits. We are also looking for available CCTV footage with nearby cameras. It looks like theft as a money box and other such things have been taken away. Further probe is underway," quoting Seema Latkar, Superintendent of Police.
