A Junior Comissioned Officer (JCO) and two soldiers of the Indian Army's Chinar Corps were killed on Wednesday after they slipped in a deep gorge while patrolling in a forward area near the Line of Control in Machhal sector in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district. Mortal remains of all three army personnel have been retrieved.
According to a statement by the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, “The incident happened in Machhal sector. During a regular op task in the forward area, a party of 1 JCO and 2 ORs slipped into a deep gorge, when snow on the track gave way. Mortal remains of all the three bravehearts have been retrieved.
