The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday said they've detained a group of secessionists who had gathered at a Srinagar hotel for a meeting. In a tweet, the police said the detained secessionists were trying to “ revive ” Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front( JKLF) and the secessionist's empire Hurriyat Conference.

Sources said the secessionists had assembled for a forum that was being organized by the Popular Political Movement( DPM), a chapter of the Hurriyat Conference led by late secessionists ’ patriarch Syed Ali Geelani before he parted ways from it.

A police platoon raided the hostel and detained all secessionists who were held at the Kothibagh police station in Srinagar.

“A search was conducted based on credible info about the meeting of some ex-terrorists of JKLF and erstwhile separatists in a hotel in Srinagar.” police said.
