Secretary, Youth Services and Sports( YSS), Sarmad Hafeez today congratulated the winners of the 5th Varmul Cup sported at Jhelum Sports Stadium today.
Secretary of Sports Council, Nuzhat Gull Director of Youth Service and Sports, Subash Chander Chhibber; International cricketer, Parveez Rasool; senior officers of varied government departments and a large number of locals also witnessed the final match of the Varmul Cup played between ACC Blues and Bradman Sopore.

Articulating on the occasion, Sarmad Hafeez lauded the sweats of all stakeholders associated with the event and encouraged the actors to work hard and chase their dreams. He appreciated the sweats of Baramulla Cricket Forum for organizing similar a successful event and emphasized the significance of sports in the development of youth.

Secretary, Sports Council in her address said that justice has a huge addict following in J&K and this great game has helped in engaging youth and channeling their energy in a positive direction. She stressed that original lad Aquib Nabi, a prominent cricketer of the J&K elderly platoon, has been prepped in this ground and numerous players will try to emulate Aquib for his gift and sportsmanship.

The Secretary further said that J&K Sports Council is running justice seminaries in numerous corridors of the union home where our unborn titleholders are tutored nuances of the great game by likes of Parveez Rasool and Abid Nabi and numerous will represent J&K and the country in the days to come.

During the peak clash of Varmul mug, ACC Blues defeated Bradman Sopore and earned a cash prize of fifty thousand rupees with a coveted jewel. The runner-up platoon bagged a cash prize of rupees twenty- five thousand. Irfan Sadaam, for his brilliant bowling, was awarded man of the match while Shakir Symond of Varmul Victorians was declared man of the event.

The cup was organized by Baramulla Cricket Forum in association with J&K Sports Council. It was a massive megahit among the justice joes of the vale, especially North Kashmir. Owing to the fashionability of the event over the once many times, this time’s edition hosted sixty- four brigades from different corners of quarter Baramulla and away.

During the event certificates and trophies were also awarded among sharing brigades and individualities. Meanwhile, on the occasion, Sarmad Hafeez along with Nuzhat Gull, and Parveez Rasool, inaugurated Baramulla Cricket Academy to give a platform for youthful cricketers to hone their chops and showcase their gifts at the public and transnational situations.
