OBC leaders protest in Jammu against the inclusion of ‘upper castes’ in Scheduled Caste list
They allege dilution of OBC reservation in J&K by inducting upper castes as 10% reservation for residents of the backward area, 4% reservation for residents of Actual Line of Control, and Pahari-speaking people.

Several organizations representing Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday organized the ‘Adhikar Tiranga Yatra’ in Jammu to protest against the move of the Centre to include “upper castes” in the Schedule Tribe (ST) and Schedule Caste (SC) lists.

Members of the OBC Mahasabha, the All India Backward Classes Federation, and the All J&K Welfare Forum, Srinagar, participated in the protest.
