Drag-flickers India defeated China 7-2 in their opening round at the Asian Champions Trophy thanks to a brace each from Harmanpreet Singh and Varun Kumar.
Seven of the goals in the game were scored from penalty corners, with China scoring one of four and world No. 4 India scoring six of their nine.
Sukhjeet Singh (15th), Akashdeep Singh (16th), and Mandeep Singh (40th) were the other Indian scorers for the team, in addition to captain Harmanpreet (5th and 8th minutes) and Varun (19th and 30th). It's interesting to note that all of the hosts' scorers are from Punjab. For China, ranked No. 25 in the globe, E Wenhui (18th) and Gao Jiesheng (25th) scored.
