Veteran Indian batsman Dinesh Karthik heaped praise on Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf, calling him "one of the best white-ball bowlers". It's no secret that the leading rusher has racked up heavy yards since bursting onto the scene in 2020, which in turn catapulted him massively into the spotlight thanks to his stellar performances.
The all-rounder, who currently alternates for Welsh Fire in The Hundred, received praise from veteran cricketer Dinesh Karthik. Notably, the paceman picked up three wickets for just 27 runs in his 20 balls against the Southern Braves, after which Dinesh spoke about the pace performance and further highlighted his stardom in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) with the Lahore Qalandars.
“A few years back he (Haris Rauf) used to play tennis ball cricket. The (Lahore) Qalandars pick him up, he becomes part of their team and their academy and then he plays in the league (Pakistan Super League) and obviously did so well for Pakistan. He is probably one of the best white-ball players in world cricket right now, especially posthumously,” Karthik told India Today on Sky Sports.
Haris has been a mainstay in Pakistan's line-up and has proved his lethal bowling in the Men in Green on numerous occasions. In 62 T20Is, 22 ODIs, and one Test, the leading all-rounder took 67, 11 and 12 wickets respectively.
Talking about the match, Haris' impressive bowling performance helped Welsh Fire restrict the opposition batting unit to a competitive 147 runs. Southern Brave, on the other hand, came out all guns blazing in the chase, edging out a narrow victory by just two runs.
