A group of attackers allegedly pelted stones at a meat shop near CRPF Chowk, police said on Tuesday.
Stones broke the butcher's windowpane. According to them, a man who runs a rental shop was slightly injured in the attack.
However, the police denied that the attack was related to the recent communal violence in Haryana in which six people, including two home guards and a priest, were killed.
The man said in the complaint that he was working in the store when he heard the sound of breaking glass. After insulting the stone, the nephew ran out to find 10-12 people attacking the shop. Some of the attackers used masks and sticks, he said in his complaint.
An FIR under sections 323 (causing hurt), 147 (causing riot), 149 (unlawful assembly) and 427 (causing hurt) of the IPC were registered against the unidentified accused at the Sector 5 police station late on Monday, police said.
The police said they are trying to identify the suspects, adding that the attackers will be arrested soon.
