Army Chief General Manoj Pande left on Wednesday for a five-day visit to Britain to attend a prestigious military event and discuss bilateral strategic issues with the British Defense Forces.

General Pande will review the 201st Parade Commissioning Course at the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst as the "Representative of a Sovereign", the Army said.

The Royal Parade at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst is a prestigious event known for its illustrious history and the disappearance of officer cadets from around the world. According to the army, General Pande is the first Chief of Army Staff of India to represent the ruler in the parade.

The Chief of Army Staff will also visit the Indian Army Memorial Hall, which is the pride of the Royal Military Academy. He will hold talks with the British Chief of Army Staff, General Sir Patrick Sanders, and the UK Army's Deputy Chief of Defense Staff, General Gwyn Jenkins.
