As India seeks deportation, British minister discusses threat from pro-Khalistan extremists

British Security Secretary Tom Tugendhat, who is visiting India, is due to meet National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and announce a £95,000 investment to improve London's understanding of the threat posed by pro-Khalistan extremism. This would complement the joint work already started between the UK and India through the Counter-Extremism Task Force.
India, on the other hand, wants strong action, including deportations, against extremist elements, while threatening Indian High Commission officers in London.
He met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday to attend the G20 anti-corruption ministerial meeting. “We discussed how India and the UK can make their partnership more modern and productive. The current global scenario offers many opportunities to develop our ties," Jaishankar told X.
Britain said the purpose of the visit was to strengthen bilateral security cooperation. "The deeper partnership between our two countries means we can more effectively combat the security threats we both face. I am committed to working together to improve our understanding and ability to combat extremism - in any form," the minister said in a statement. From the High Commission of Great Britain.
